9 Days Kenya Safari

Day 1: Nairobi -Samburu

After breakfast, leave Nairobi for Samburu National park. We pass through the Pineapples, coffee and Tea plantations. Arrive in time for lunch and after proceed for a game drive in samburu national reserve  which known for its herds of elephants. Dinner and overnight at Camp/Lodge.

Day 2: Samburu

Game drives that will take you to Samburu, and Buffalo Springs National Reserves, straddles the muddy Ewaso Nyiro river and is one of the most picturesque parks of northern Kenya. Clusters of dorm palms, riverine tress. The reserves have a number of wildlife species not usually found in the southern game parks, including Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk, Reticulated Giraffes, Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Vulture guinea fowl and hundreds of Elephants. With an option of visiting the Samburu tribe in the evening (Optional). The Samburu are a Nilotic people of north-central Kenya that are related to but distinct from the Masai. The Samburu are semi-nomadic pastoralists who herd cattle mainly cattle but also goats, sheep and camels. Dinner and overnight at Camp/Lodge.

Day 3: Samburu – Sweetwater Mt Kenya

Early morning breakfast game en-route leave Samburu for Sweet water arriving  in time for lunch   at Sweet waters luxury Tented Camp,  followed by afternoon game drive ,Sweetwater’s is the only sanctuary for rehabilitation in Kenya of these widely abused chimpanzees with two groups living in an environment as close to their natural habitat as possible. The site is also a dedicated black rhino breeding area. Afternoon game drive across the Park. Later return for Dinner and overnight at Sweet waters Luxury Tented Camp. Dinner and overnight at Camp/Lodge.

Day 4: Mt Kenya – Aberdare

Leave sweet water with en route game drive to Aberdare national park arriving in time for lunch at Outspan hotel and later you will be transferred to tree hotel the evening is spent on the open air verandahs or in the public areas, watching the animals and birds as they come to drink.

Day 5: Aberdare – Lake Bogoria – Baringo

Early morning after breakfast leave Aberdare national park Thomson fall for lake Bogoria/Baringo arriving in time for lunch at Lake Bogoria spa followed by afternoon game drive Lake Baringo. The lake is a world famous bird sanctuary; late in afternoon enjoy an evening boat ride in search of hippo, crocodile and fish eagle. Lake Baringo is the most Northerly of Kenya’s small Rift valley lakes, creased with papyrus and well developed acacia forest. Hippos, crocodiles and monitor lizards are effortlessly seen from the shore as is a magnificent display of water birds. This is Kenya’s bird watching center with over1200 different species native to the country and more than 450 sighted here a bird watcher’s haven later drive to the Camp/Lodge.

Day 6: Lake Bogoria – Baringo – Lake Nakuru

After breakfast on proceed to Lake Bogoria which is famed for hot springs and geysers being the main attractions. The lake has been called ‘the new home of flamingo’ with a nomad population of up to two millions birds, later drive to Lake Nakuru arriving in time for en route game drive to your hotel and another game drive in the evening, Lake Nakuru is famous for the Flamingoes (Greater and Lesser) and other water birds including a variety of terrestrial birds. It has a wide range of mammals including the rhinos; it has unique vegetation with different plant species including the biggest euphorbia forest in Africa, and the yellow acacia woodlands.

Day 7: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara

Early morning depart Lake Nakuru national park with en route game drive for Masai Mara via Narok town for lunch arriving in Mara in time for introduction game drive. Dinner and overnight stay Camp/Lodge.

Day 8: Masai Mara

Early morning breakfast and with basket lunch, a full day spent at the Masai Mara game reserve, across the plains in search of the big cats (black manned lions, Cheetahs and leopards with picnic lunch served at the Mara River site. Vast herds of wildebeest and zebra wander across the Mara grasslands in huge numbers during this period of the annual migrations take place, when millions of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle traverse the Mara plains landscape to feed on the rich new grass from the Serengeti. You also have a chance to see other plain game like the Topi, hartebeest, Eland. All meals and overnight at Camp/Lodge.

Day 9: Masai Mara – Nairobi

We have an early morning game drive. It will be your last game drive in Masai Mara before coming back for breakfast. We then pack and leave for Nairobi arriving late afternoon. End of Safari
